Video Animations . . . . .

Another way to make your page move is with video.  There are many different formats available.  There is the standard windows audio/visual format (.avi), large file sizes, slow download, but excellent quality.  Another high quality format is QuickTime video (.mov), the file compression is much better but requires that you download the Quicktime plug-in (well worth it!)  There is also the mpeg format, good quality and excellent file compression but requiring an mpeg plug-in.  Then there is Real Video, a streaming format that has the best file compression but lesser video quality, also requiring a plug-in.  The plug-in is free, but it costs to stream the files from your website.  There are several other streaming formats available such as Vivo.  You have probably seen these format used on several pages throughout the internet.

If you don't mind the wait while they download, there are a couple of examples available below.  Click on the images to play the videos.  Enjoy!  (Both videos are available elsewhere on the web.)  PS - Check the source code for this page and the pages that appear in the popup windows if you want to see how this was done.
